The endless metaphysical battle between good and evil is symbolically reenacted by two weird characters, Barong and Rangda, who by their performance reinforce the magic power of the village and restore the balance between two contrary force. The barong representative of the good force of nature . It’s a strange creature that danced by two men inside a highly decorated framework that represent a stylized animal, often kind Chinese lion. Barong adversary is queen of the witches, ugly creature with long tongue, fangs and pendulous breast The Dance start at 9.30 am and finish at 10.30 am. The story behind this dance is an internal fight between good and evil spirit. "The Barong" is (a mythological animal) represent good spirit and "The Rangda", a witch (a mythological monster) represent evil one. Balinese people also believed that the Barong is symbol of protector.
