Ubud Monkey Forest
Ubud Monkey Forest also known as Ubud Wanara Wana is a nature reserve temple complex in Ubud and as a place of monkey forest sanctuary. Monkey Populations
Ubud Monkey Forest is dwelt by more than 200 monkeys belonging to long tailed monkey group in Latin language called macaques or Macaca fascicularis that has the wide distribution area. Among the number of monkeys, there are around 23 adult male monkeys, 79 adult female and more than 98 were children. All monkeys in the forest are consisted of 3 groups that occupying a certain area and use the certain place including the certain time as well. When two groups are existing in one place at the same time, hence the fight is difficult to be avoided. Those monkeys are believed by the local societies as the holy monkeys that keep the temple and forest from the bad influences.
Surrounding Area
There are three holy temples existing in this forest where all of those are predicted built in 14 century, in the beginning of Gelgel Dynasty. Dalem Agung Temple is located southwest of this forest become a main temple beside of the other two temples includes Pemandian Suci and Prajapati Temple. The other side, there are plenty of souvenir shops sell the variety of Balinese local souvenirs for tourists, the restaurants are not far from this forest and other tourist destinations such as Ubud Palace, Puri Lukisan Painting Museum, ARMA Painting Museum, Neka Painting Museum, Goa Gajah etc
Ubud Royal Palace
Ubud Royal Palace is an Ubud Kingdom Palace with beautiful Balinese traditional houses as a residence of Ubud King. It is set in the center of Ubud Bali with traditional art market just in front of it and it is found by Ida Tjokorda Putu Kandel who has commanded from year 1800 - 1823. This palace is an artistic cultural life center, while the traditional market is the symbol of local economics resident. The existence of Puri Saren as a palace is equipped by a Wantilan/auditorium that is a large building of meeting room and a banyan tree as shelter place at the daytime. Ubud village has been a "royal town" for over a hundred years.

Ubud Market
Ubud Market is a traditional art market in the center of Ubud village, where the existence is not far different from other markets available in the tourism area. Ubud Market as a society economics center of Ubud and it is apposite to the existence of Ubud Empire that is called Puri Saren. The market is unfolding from west to easterly divided become two group with different purpose. There are two markets available at the same area those are one block at the Westside is for a traditional artistic market and another block located in the East as an everyday traditional fundamental market requirement.
The Existence of Market
There is no much different from other markets located in urban areas, Ubud traditional market as the economic center located in the hearth of Ubud Village, apposite to Puri Saren/Ubud Palace. The market stretch from the west to the east is divided into two groups with a different designation. The western block is designated for traditional art market meanwhile the eastern block is designated for a traditional market sell daily basic needs. The market is opened every day around 08.00 – 18.00 hours, event some shops are opened until evening. While the traditional market sell the daily basic needs is opened from 06.00 and even before the opening time, there is early morning market opened at 04.00 am. The souvenirs or handicrafts are sold at the traditional art market are consisted of multifarious of contemporary handicrafts with relatively cheapest prices.
